How do I get my calendar back in Outlook?

While it would have been nice to know before enabling iCloud that data was actually going to be removed from my Outlook data file I unfortunately learned that the hard way. And although apple support happily let me know after the fact that iCloud hadn't "deleted" the information, just moved it to Outlook's "deleted items folder", I have since closed & reopened Outlook which means that all items in my deleted items folder have been deleted. Because that's what the deleted items folder is for. Deleting things. I want my calendar back. I want it back fast.
