I am trying to install turbo tax on my imac os x 10.6.8.  I drag the disk icon to the applications folder in the dialog box that popped up after inserting the disk.  It seems to load and shows up in the applications folder as an application.  I double click on the icon and the application opens and I'm ready to work.

The Problem:

When I eject the disk and go back to my applications folder to open turbo tax it shows as an alias and will not open.  It seems like such an easy install to do and yet it does not seem to work.   Help!

OMG I think I just figured it out.... I was dragging the disk icon to the apps folder.  I was supposed to drag the icon within the pop up window to the apps folder.  As you can tell, I'm a PC user and new to mac!  I think this is going to solve the mystery!

Yes that should resolve this, do the drag within the dialog window itself, not out of the window.  When I installed TT this year it went very fast.  Good luck with it.

Double click that disk icon to open it (instead of dragging it to the Applications folder).  In the Finder window that opens, you will probably see an installer or the actual app to drag to the Applications folder.
