After troublshooting ( turning off and on, making sure the portrait lock was not on, and restoring to factory defaults,) a brand new Ipod touch, I am still unable to get the screen to rotate from portrait to landscape mode. Is there anything else to try, or should it be returned?
iPod touch
Double click the home button and swipe Task Bar to the right.
Make sure the Rotation Lock on the far left is not enabled.

If the above doesn't work, try a reset.
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.
What apps have you tried? Not all apps use landscape mode.Safari is one app that does.
- Restore from backup. See:
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
