I've recently ripped an audio cd to Itunes 11.0.2 and the first track is totally distorted. It's the same when I try to play this track through my iMac. All other tracks on the play fine and the whole cd including track 1 plays fine on my stereo.
Can anyone help?

Check the box "Use error correction when Reading Audio CD".

I tried this but unfortunately it didn't fix the problem. Any other ideas?
What codec are you using to rip the CD?
I'm using AAC encoder. But itunes plays it distorted off the cd even before i import

I mean, try do the same thing with another CD, to check if the problem it's on the Optic!
It's only the first song on this CD and the song plays fine on my stereo/car stereo. So its not the cd or the optic. Other CDs are fine
Actually I just found 2 other CDs by the same artist where it does the same thing. First song is distorted and the others are fine.
Anjar. My new Mac mini does the same. The first track of cd distorts. Click and play second track and it sounds fine. Then go back to first track and that is then OK! Have tried all codecs and bit rates. Same happens on all formats. This doesn't happen on iTunes on my windows 7 machine!
i'm also having this problem with a RHCP cd, the first track of both cd's is distorted beyond belief, i actually ended up buying Dani California and Desecration Smile from Itunes just to fix this problem... any updates on this? it's frustrating as ****!
