Anyone got any ideas? I'm thinking under the batter on that thing that tells you how to put the RAM in but I thought I'd just ask to see if anyone ran any problems with that. Probably silly but you never know.

AHHH
We thought you were asking about the little Windows sticker that PC makers put on the palmrest.Sorry about that.I would keep the "key" sticker in a file cabinet with all irreplacable items.

If you put it on the battery or any other hot area, it'll melt off over time. That's what happened to my Gateway laptop's s/n sticker. I have no idea where it is now lol. The inside top of the battery bay might be a good place because it won't have any place to go if it does melt off...
I vote for putting it with the disk, not on the computer at all. There is nothing more frustrating than realizing you need some number from the bottom of the computer (or inside of the battery bay) WHILE you're using the machine. You can always make a little text file in windows and the Mac OS that has the serial number on it as well.
