I don't want to lose all my data

Hi Everyone!

I lost my old mac, and it had all my backups and sync data on it, and so I bought a new mac, and I want to sync with this mac, but I dont want to lose all of my data on my iPad mini, is this possible, and if so, how would I do this.

I need an answer urgently, because I am leaving the country tomorrow and I won't be taking my new mac.

Thanks in advance.

On your new mac you can open up iTunes then go to prefences in iTunes from your tool bar "iTunes>Prefences" from there select the option for devices and check the option to prevent automatic syncing. At that point its safe to connect your iPad to your new Mac then backup and transfer your purchases to your new iTunes library. Here are the instructions on how to transfer purchases and back up your iPad.
