how can you get pictures back after you backed up from a later date?

I restored my phone on my dads computure and then he tried to back it up but he backed it up with my moms phone, then i plugged it into my itunes and backed it up but the last time i backed it up was this summer so i lost all my texts and pictures since this summer! is there any way to get them back? my husbands in the army so my pictures me a lot since i never see him and hes always texting me important info and now its all gone!
