fn keys, f10, f11, f12 (for volume) Not working on wireless keyboard

Hi,

I just brought a 27' iMac, it comes with an Apple Wireless Keyboard, when I paired it I noticed the volume keys were working for other thigs such as showing the dashboard or putting all the wondows to the sides, I thought I could configure them easily to use them as volume keys on the Sistem preferences panel, but I haven't found an option to do that and I noticed that the computer detects the f14 and f15 keys, which aren't on my keyboard, I tried lots of solutions none of which have worked:

  • Tried restarting the computer.
  • Disconnected the keyboard, erasing it from the bluetooth panel and reconnect it.
  • Check/uncheck the "use all f1 f2 etc. keys as standard function keys". This option isn't even in the System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab, everything I have is:

User uploaded file

Use the fn key together with the f keys. Fn key seems to do nothing so f10 does nothing, f11 keeps putting windows aside and f12 goes to dashboard.

I'm using Mountain Lion, my keyboard is model No. A1314, the little one, with no numeric keys

Thanks for your help

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Hello:

That screen shot you displayed is not from OS X 10.8.

Try resetting the PRAM and SMC. If that doe not work, call Applecare - you have the free 90 day telephone coverage.
