Hi, is there any way to change the settings on my iPhone so that all the texts I receive are silent EXCEPT those from my boyfriend? I want to hear it when he texts me. Do Not Disturb mode only works for phone call sounds, not text sounds!

No there isnt. You could record "silence"using garageband and use the "silent"tone for those you do not want to hear but other than that or using some other app to record a "silent" tone there is no setting on the phone that will do it for you. I am not even sure if you can have a selective tone, I think it might be all or nothing
Reading other topics but this one I haven't try it myself.
Set a specific tone for your boyfriend's. go to contact, choose his name, and set a specific tone.
Then go to setting and set sound for new message tone to none.
Someone has a problem when he set new messge tone to "none" and a contact in his address book text him and it still sounds. And that was because he has a specific tone set for that particular contact.
Logically, this should work for you since you only want your boyfriend's tone.
