It's easier to put your photos in the cloud (Dropbox) than on a memory stick.
iPad don't work well with memory stick.
I Haven't got Dropbox or cloud
You should be able to access your Dropbox from any computer or tablet i.e. if you have internet.
U can always buy a 30 pin to usb / memory stick adapter.
Most memory stick will consume too much power and will not work with the Camera Connection Kit (30 pin to USB)
Actually pendrive consumes a lot of power .. But if SD /microSD card is used it should work fine..
Most folks have gotten around that issue by using a self powered USB hub. But I am unaware of anyone that has found a method of actually transferring photos from an iPad to a thumb drive. iOS is only set up to transfer photos from a memory stick or camera to the iPad and only if the files are configured and named correctly.
Regardless of what you buy, there is zero support to transfer photos OFF the iPad onto any memory device. Syncing to a computer, photostream, uploading/downloading, e-mailing them off are the only ways.
There is always Flicker and Picasa. Search the App Store for the official Flickr app or several third-party Picasa apps.
My sister still gets photos from her iPhone printed at the drug store photo kiosk. I'm not sure if they support backing up to USB thumbdrives but during the process she has a backup CD/DVD burnt of her photos before sh deletes them from the iPhone. Probably worth a trip to the drug store or a local Walmart to see if these photo kiosks will work to copy your photos to a thumbdrive.
If you have more money then you need...
This dual personality device is both a WebDav device which allows you to transfer files via Wifii between device & iPad and a thumb drive which works with compuers.
