Has anyone had wifi issues with iPad 2 after the 6.1.3 update ? Will it go away on its own? Apple wants me to send it in for replacement but if it would start working properly I want to keep it.

I have had wifi issues with my iPad 2 since I updated my iPad. Can it resolve on its own? I am still under warranty, but I would like to keep it if its possible that it could resolve, apple told me to send it in for replacement, I have reset my router, reset my network setting ,restored my iPad to new iPad nothing is working, I was tethering off my phone but that has stopped working as well, I was losing wifi every five to ten seconds now I have it for twenty minutes to an hour at a time. Please tell me what you think I should do anyone.

If you have a hardware issue, then it needs to be fixed/replaced. You will be most likely getting a refurbished ipad, you will not be getting someone elses used ipad however.

It will have new glass, new back, and new serial number.

The length of time it takes for the replacement ipad to arrive will depend on the service option you choose. There's an express replacent option available for those who have apple care, and should recieve replacement in a couple of days. The other options will take a little longer. (5-10 business days, depending on your geographical location).

Apple should be able to inform you of this.

You could also take to an apple store.

Then yes, the personalization of your ipad can add 1-2 weeks. I don't believe an apple store would be able to help you in that case, you would have to mail it out as well.

If you're still under the original 1 year hardware warranty, I would consider spenging the $79. on apple care. It probably wont' help you in this intance, but may in the future.

that would be up to you. what has changed? How much time is left under your warranty?

What steps did apple support already take with you when they determined that the ipad needed to be sent in?

There are typical troubleshooting steps you can take when having issues, but if they already have determined that that there's an issue and needs to be replaced then what else would you be looking for?

Everyone loses wifi connection from time to time, thats normal. But a consistant issue with all networks over a length of time is another matter.

If its working now, and you have not done anything different then the problem might just reappear.

Try some other networks if you can.

Well I reset my network settings, that didn't work, so I went to iTunes and set it up as new iPad then restored it to my iCloud back up that didn't work. So then I just restored it to new iPad altogether, that didn't work then I called apple they told me to do the same things that I had already done, so on Saturday when I talked to them they said it needed to be replaced, so yesterday morning I went on and I haven't had a problem since. I have never had it drop wifi until the last 6.1.3 update then I couldn't get it to connect for more them ten seconds at a time, oh and when I was resetting my network I also unplugged my router for thirty minutes and that didn't work either, so as time went on the wifi lasted longer and longer, my warranty is up on August 8. I just don't want to waste apples time if there isn't a problem but I have to send it back within ten days or I for fit my replacement, I just don't know what to do. I did try Starbucks but it wouldn't work and I can't tether off my iPhone anymore T all it won't work.

If your warranty is good for another 5 months, then my advice would be to wait if its now working. There have been numerous posts over the past couple of months in regards to the recent updates and the ipad 2.

Whether not you send the ipad back within 10 days has no affect on your warranty. Not sure what they told you.

I might have missed you saying it, but did you check to see if the firmware on your router can be updated? Many might do this automatically, but it might be worth checking.

I'm saying to wait a bit longer. If it were mine, I would want it to work in every aspect and fashion. I will ocassionaly have connection issues on mine, but only occasionally. I can usually resolve them on the spot.

It sounds odd to me that it would start working with your home network all of suddent without making any changes. However, I've had similiar experiences with computers and electronic devices in general. Having trouble connecting to one particular network, other than at home, would be something that I could live with. Having trouble with many, I could not live with.

How did you restore it last time? If you used itunes then try directly on the ipad. Do the opposite of what you did before.

Be aware, this might put you back at square one again with the wifi issue at home.

But if it were me, I would restore back to factory settings again, just to satisfy my own curiousity.

Ok I did it and its a complete miracle my blue tooth is working and my wifi just like before the update, thank you so much, I hate it when technology doesn't work the way it should, I can tether off my husbands iPad and my iPhone no problem and it hooks up to my wifi immediately. Thanks so much now I'm going to be afraid to do the next update when it comes out though.do you think it had something to do with the update? Is there some kind of diagnostics test I can do or something to make sure everything is good?

Has anyone had wifi issues with iPad 2 after the 6.1.3 update ? Will it go away on its own? Apple wants me to send it in for replacement but if it would start working properly I want to keep it.
