I've been testing close to 20 extensions some that have been around for ages and some new ones. I've found that everyone of them eventually eats up a ton of RAM under the activity Safari Web Content. Having contanted developers, they all blame Apple and say this is a flaw in Safari. It seems to render the feature useless. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes - depending on website & content, but not all extensions & versions.
Please show me some extensions that you use that work and what version of OS X and Safari you are running. I'm trying to build a case for Apple to help with.
clicktoflash seems ok, gdirectlinks, detox, ghostery (not so sure), deanimator, quickstyle
adblock was, seems a problem lately, hogging cpu & memory on some sites.
10.6.8 & 5.1.8 mainly, also latest 10.7 & 8 but less often
Could you test those in 10.8 because i have found that click to flash, adblock both are an issue. Open a number of windows in Safari...leave your machine idle for a few hours and come back and review Safari Web Content and you will be in for a surprise.
I don't doubt that adblock would - will test clickto.
on 10.8.3 & 6.0.3 left safari idle for 90 mins after opening 10 tabs over 2 windows - apple discussions, bbc, wiki

Safari stayed ~ 115MB, webcontent ~ 510MB, no significant change after initial opening
I have turned on just the ones you did and have 7 tabs open in 1 window and opened/closed a few in another. I've seen safari web content go up about 100MB so far over 90 minutes. I'm going to leave it be all day and will report back.
Double the RAM from when I started. We tried it on another machien and found the same as did a few devlopers. So far, I'm puzzled to how it doesn't affect you. You are 100% sure? Leave these windows open over night perhaps and see. We have 5 confirmations of this but woud love to know if this is the fact for everyone.

Hi, I have a similar problem using Safari on my Mac Book Pro. Sometimes Safari WebContent is using 100% of memory even when nothing else is running!! Cant understand this. That beachball drives me mad. This problem has been going on for about two months as far as I can recall
Until enough people complain, Apple will do nothing. This doesn't happen to this extent in Chrome or Firfox and there is a mechanism to properly toss extensions that are not up to date for a new build of the browser. Get others to write in here and to Apple directly and maybe they will put resources into fixing it. Shame that they invested in the technology to only allow it to become a sinkhole.
i've been having terrible problems with safari memory leaks. uninstalled adblock and.... problem solved. i still use lastpass however and that seems stable.
