iTunes 10.0.2 for Mac - 'Unable to connect to the CDDB server.'

iTunes 10.0.2, running on a Macbook Pro - current gen, non-retina with OSX 10.8.3

Several days ago, I started getting the error "Unable to connect to the CDDB server. The network cannot be reached. Make sure your Internet connection is active and your network settings are correct, then try again." when any CD is inserted or when 'Get track names' is selected. I have tried fully uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling, and several restarts.

iTunes has otherwise no problems seeing my internet connection - iTunes store, iPhone app updates, etc.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I have now ascertained that this was caused by an applicarion called Handsoff! by Metakine. Since unstalling Handsoff, iTunes can access CDDB.

Hope this info is of use to others. Even if it's to save them fifty dollars on Handsoff!.
