how do i update software on ipod touch?

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

Which iPod Touch do you have and what iOS version? Versions less than iOS 5 have to be updated using a computer with iTunes...plug in, choose the Touch from the left sidebar under Devices and then choose Sotware Update from the main Summary panel.

Hi all,

I have iphone 3gs so i can't install FindMyPhone for my phone.

FindMyPhone only works on Iphone 4, 4s, 5, 5s.

So now i can update firmware for my phone then i can install FindMyPhone, right or wrong?

Please tell me how i can install FindMyPhone for iphone 3g.

The iPhone 3gs can go to iOS 6 and above. What iOS do you have on the iPhone right now? You can see that by going to Settings > General > About > Version. If you have iOS 5 or above you can update your iOS by Settings ? General > Software Update. Or with lower than iOS 5 connect to a computer with iTunes and do the Software Update.

iOS 6 go to Settings > General > Find My iPhone and switch ON to activate.

The iPod Touch 2 can only go to iOS 4.2.1, so you cannot upgrade to iOS 5 or 6.
