After I install Windows 7, my iMac (Early 2008) boots and a black screen with a white cursor blinking on the upper left corner appear and won't go away. What should I do?

You don't say how you installed Windows 7 (Boot Camp, Parallels, Fusion etc...) so it very difficult to offer any assistance. If you used Boot Camp then navigate to the Boot Camp forum, this is where the MS Windows and Boot Camp gurus tend to hang out.
I used Bootcamp to partition my iMac and install windows.
Start Boot Camp and repeatedly press the F8 key during the startup ( be sure the fn key is set for special functions). You may get to a DOS like screen where you can choose options for startup.

I tried this and it didn't work. The partitioning through bootcamp and the windows installation went well up until the mac booted. When I restart with mac and i go to start up disc, I can see the windows partition.
