iPhone 5 - iOS 6.1.3 - problems with receiving mails

I am having a very similar issue with yahoo bizmail pop3 acct - worked fine until today (a few days after 6.1.3 on 4s) - now I get downloading 1 of x - no emails download - then refresh shows updated at xx:xx Three other mail apps working fine on OSX mountain lion and Outlook on Win 6. Appears to be sync problem between iOS mail app and pop server.

I would try a simple reset of the device first by holding down the home and power button for 15 to 30 seconds until you see the silver apple and then let the device start normally. If issues still persist, remove the mail account that is having issues from Settings>Mail, Contacts, and Calendars, then re add once deleted from the add account... option.

The reset did not help but the delete and reinstall did bring the emails up to date. I will check later and see if the next bunch of mail I get downloads ok. Thanks

I just checked - five new emails on Outlook, same message on iOS mail - "downloading 1 of 5" - none download - then next message is "updated 3/26/13 8:35" - so there is a real issue here. One think I noticed is that one if the emailson outlook was a Yahoo announcement that there is a NEW Yahoo mail mobile app for iPhone - my thought is that they have modified the server sync with the new separate app- this could be a real mess if Yahoo and/or apple don't get it worked out?

Ya you could always attempt to add the mail account under other and put in the server settings manually and see if that works.

Did that - iOS app reports pop.bizmail.yahoo.com not responding - tried port normal SSL port 995 - no response but outlook is working fine?

I am going to let it go overnight but I think there is something new going wrong with the servers response. However no visible error messages just the not responding message from app.

One final interesting thing - I went back, deleted manual setup, did Yahoo setup and the POP server responded with downloading 1 of 200 - churned a minute - no downloads but reported updated. Again outlook working fine. Something is wrong with mail app request or pop server response?

As of midnight it is working after another manual install being careful to add user name and password for authentication on smtp.

I am the iPhone administrator for my company. We have this issue with several iPhone 5's all over the country! Only iPhone 5's after being updated to IOS 6.1.3 I have sent several of them used iPhone 4's and the problems go away! something is up! with Outlook - iPhone 5's - and IOS 6.1.3

After watching this for awhile I think it is probably a server issue more than an IOS problem, with the caveat that IOS 6 may be more sensitive to the server issue than earlier versions. It may be a timing issue for the POP transmission cue or something else. Once I cleared the server and phone of old emails things were back to normal.

I'm having the same or similar problem. My iPhone 5 seemed to be working fine until tonight. Now it doesn't seem to want to download mail from Yahoo. On my PC, I've received 4 mail messages that haven't loaded on the phone. A couple of times, the phone said downloading 1 of 4 messages but only briefly. I deleted the account and set it up again. Now it says loading more messages but never does. So at least right now, I can't access any mail at all.

Exactly what happened to me - I think it is something being sent out wrong by the server. I solved it by erasing all my mail on the server through the web interface and on the iPhone then the two seemed to sync on new mail and I have had no problems since. Definitely needs to be reported to Yahoo support.

That's a great suggestion except for one thing: there is virtually no way to contact Yahoo. When I go to the Yahoo help page, there is no way to contact them. Apparently, my version of Yahoo mail is no longer supported. I access Yahoo mail through my phone or my PC. Yahoo seems to be trying to force everyone to use their new mobile apps, so they don't seem to support accessing your email through a browser. I don't use Windows 8 so I don't see why I should have to use their Windows App. I may have to switch to GMail. It's no wonder Yahoo has troubles as a business; they have no idea how to treat customers. I've been using Yahoo mail for over 10 years and I can't even discuss a simple issue like this with Yahoo tech support.

One other thing: my mail on the phone seems to be working now. How long this will continue is anyone's guess...
