Hi I keep getting the rainbow pinwheel coming up more and more often.  Is there anything that I need to do?

Many thanks

That's so little to go on that I'm not even sure where to start.

Maybe your complete system specs – free space on boot drive and any external drives – location of your scratch disk – what format clips you're working with – whether you get the beachballs when using apps other than Final Cut.

You could change the OSX color scheme to "Carbon". I think the pinwheel is not in color in that setup.

Otherwise, as Russ has asked, More Info please ...

Sorry - what I'm trying to say is that iit seems as though the Mac keeps locking all of the time.  If I'm changing from one tab to another, the pinwheel just comes up before loading the page.  Sort of like a time out gesture.  I'm pressuming I have enough memory on here not to lock it up.

You can tell I'm not technical can't you?

    SIdney,

Is this a question about Final Cut Express or one about your iMac's performance?

Because this is a user forum meant to help other Final Cut users.

If it is a general issue pertaining to your computer, you should post it in the IMac forum here.

(They will want more details about your system and how you're using it as well.)
