I am not sure why it is asking me for my credit card #. I want a free app! How can I fix this without making a new apple id?
The app store and iTunes will still ask for a charge number, but free downloads will not be charged against the credit card.

You'll have to put it in. It wont charge your account. It's used for Account verification. Once you download the app you then can go in and remove the card off your account.

or you can get a iTunes gift card and put it on the account and you'll have a credit you can use. Those are the only ways if you have already setup the account.
