Why can't I use Emoji characters from the Character Viewer in my Facebook posts? All the pictographs,etc. from Character Viewer work? I have a new MacBook Pro

The Apple Color Emoji Font has special non-standard features and cannot be displayed by all apps (including Apple's own Pages). You may be able to see them in black and white if you install Symbola or another standard emoji font.
