Q: I redeemed a movie on my account and would like to put it on my son's account so he can have it on his Ipod, is there a way?

I shared my account with my son but now would like him to have his own. Is there a way to put those mickey mouse movies on to his new account?

    Hi there,

At this time it is not possible to transfer purchases from one iTunes Account to another.  If you wanted a specific item on your son's account, it would have to be purchased/downloaded under his account.

A bit of a bummer, but I hope this saves you some time and aggravation.  Best wishes!

You cannot transfe them to his iTunes account but you can simply put then in his iTunes library and he can watch them.

That reminds me, you could sync it to his devices by manually managing your content as well (thanks Chris!!).

This article will explain how to to that:

Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod

I hope this is helpful!  Best wishes and good luck!

You don't need to Manually manage to get it onto his device.

And you can drag and drop even if not manually managing.

I guess I should have explained better.

On my lap top I have my itunes account. I redeemed a digital copy of a movie and put in on my iphone for him. this past christmas he got his own laptop and ipod. I created an itunes account for him on his laptop and ipod. I redeemed another movie on his laptop using his account, then I tried to redeem the old movie to his account so he could have both. It told me the code had already been used. Id like to take the movie off of my account and my laptop and put it on to his (its a mickey mouse club house movie nothing im interested in..lol)

iTunes account - used to make purchases in iTunes.

iTunes library - Songs and movies in library on your computer.

You can copy the movie to his iTunes library on his computer and authorize his computer with your iTunes account (so the movie will play).

You cannot transfer the movie to his iTunes account.

Yes I understand. You don't open an iTunes library on an iTunes account.

He has his own iTunes library on his computer.

He also has his own iTunes account.

You cannot transfer the song to his iTunes account.

You can add the movie to his iTunes library and authorize his computer to play items from your iTunes account.

He can make any new purchases with his iTunes account.

You need to copy the movie from the iTunes library  on your computer to the iTunes library on his computer.

    You can use Home Sharing.

See this -> Understanding Home Sharing
