iWeb webpages have a fixed width and height.

Only thing to do is to make the page smaller.

Since I do not cater to postage stamp screens, I limit myself to the screen of my iPad.

As Wyodor has pointed out, iWeb can only produce a fixed width page so you need to create different versions of your site for the various devices.

The iWeb template default width is 700px and many people use this by accident or design. If your main website is somewhere between 700 and 800 px wide it should be viewable on the iPad and other larger tablets.

With the above page width, your visitors are going to be straining to read your content on the mini tablet devices such as Nexus 7 and iPad Mini. These would require a page width of somewhere around 550 to 600px. Example...

Next comes the smart phones...

Your main website index.html file needs to have some code added to direct visitors to the appropriate site for their device.

When designing these narrower versions of your website you should try to reduce the amount of content and cut the file size of images appropriately.

The navigation and other links should be large enough for finger tips. Movies should be prevented from preloading and display a poster image with a large "start" button. And so on...

Content height doesn't matter so much - within reason. Vertical scrolling on mobile devices is easy enough. On longer pages, its definitely worth considering adding a "Back To The Top" button.

Another convenience which will be appreciate by those using the smaller devices is some method of getting the mobile browser menu bar to disappear after page load.

The bigger budget websites mostly use a responsive design for mobile users which can display larger amounts of content in a more convenient way using multi layer menus and pageination. Example...

A much simpler solution would be to use a service like this...

... rather than using iWeb. Remember that this software is at the end of its useful life and anything you create with it now will soon need to be recreated using something more suitable for modern web design.
