Skype-compatible video chat?

Hello,

My family will shortly be moving to Australia from the US and we want to use Skype to keep in contact with our relatives. However, my grandpa, who owns a Mac OS X 10.4.5 Tiger, cannot get Skype to work on his computer. (He has tried using old versions and various fixes found online but it refused to remember his registration and would not allow him to create an account or log on.) And I do not know much about Macs, my whole family uses PCs (sacreligious, I know) although we own an iPad.

Apparently iChat, which he has, cannot connect to Skype. SO, my question is, what is a video chat that will a) work with an older Mac b) be able to call Skype?

Thank you!

Hi should update to 10.4.11.

If you both have Macs you should be able to use iChat.

There is one version of Skype (v.5 or later) that is for Intel Macs only.

The version for PPC Macs is v. 2.8.0.866 which you get from this link:

Just scroll down until you find it, or possibly this direct link will get you there a bit quicker:
