Apple TV no remote

I left my remote for my Apple TV at home while on vacation. Is there a way to use my iPhone or iPad as a remote for my Apple TV?

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Unfortunately you will need the original remote to create a network connection before you can use your mobile device as a remote.

Unfortuntely you need the apple remote to set up network and home sharing also please click the liitle star down there i think it says this helped me
