my mac is an 10.5 and i want the the new version of apps, its the old mac 2007 one

You need to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6 and then run Software Update twice.

What model Mac do you have? What iDevices do you want to sync?

The current max version of iTunes is 11.x and as a minimum requires OS X 10.6.

For some older iDevices you can use iTunes 10.6.3 and OS X 10.5.
