I got a new app called system utilities. It shows all the processes the phone runs. Apparently phone, email, camera, and App Store all run in the background. Now, three of them I knew and understood why they ran, but why is camera running? Can I cancel it? Please remember that it's running secretly in the background so it can't be closed normally. Also does anyone else have this problem?

Location services are off whatever it is concerning me I think perhaps the sensor is going and running my battery down. If its software related it may be what other people are getting. Even if its only me I still wanna figure it out. All I want is to close it and stop running it but even MobileTerminal isn't doing anything
I have exactly the same problem and it runs down my battery at a rate of over 25% per hour (4s, verizon) with absolutely no apps running other than the few noted in the original post that my sys manager app has identified (camera, phone, mail)... this has been a problem since around the time of my 6.1.3 iOS install... hoping 7 will solve it
I would like to know how to turn it off, too. I have not given any app permission to use my camera and have photostream turned off and have always kept photos excluded from my iCloud syncing and backups. Why is this running?
It might have to do with location services and you can disable that for the camera/photos

Why is this a problem?
Because it's using battery in the background.
Photostream may be the culprit.
Probably not a signficant amout.
I also dont understand why its running in the background.
I do not use the cam so why should it run and consume battery?
