downgrade os x 10.8.3 to 10.8.2

I just upgraded to os x 10.8.3 this morning, and after the upgrade some of the software don't work anymore...

How can I downgrade back to 10.8.2?

(I already download the os x 10.8.2 dmg file and try to install it, but failed!)

Thanks for answer.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Now, unless you have a backup or you keep the full OS X Mountain Lion installer with 10.8.2 or an older version, it's impossible to go back to OS X 10.8.2.

Apart from that, what applications are you having problems with? Have you tried to reinstall OS X 10.8.3 with the Combo installer? It's "normal" that the update is installed incorrectly, so some apps may stop working after updating Mac OS X. Normally, a reinstallation using the Combo version solves the problem

You can't unless you saved the 10.8.2 installer application. If you do have it then you need to first erase the drive before installing it.

I might point out it would be easier to try fixing your problem if you would provide more detailed information about what software does not work, and what happens when you try to use it.

You cannot install a lower version on top of a higher version. You have to have an installer from 10.8.2 or lower, then build a bootable version on an external drive such as a flash drive, boot from that flash drive, erase the hard drive and then install the lower version. But you will have to make a good backup of all of the contents of your hard drive first as you must erase it to do the installation.

This is going to be a major amount of work, are you sure you want to do this? And do you have a copy of the full 10.8.2 installer to use to build from? That is no longer available from Apple.

so, if I restore the computer from a backup, which was made in OS X 10.8.2, will I go back to OS X 10.8.2?

more specifically, the application I'm having trouble with, is Adobe CS5 and Reason. Adobe is locked in 10.8.3, and when I open 'Reason', it tells me to put in the disc, which I bought years ago and right now not by my side.

Thanks anyway 🙂

Try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Hello,

I have the same problem. After install 10.8.3 update, many apps crashed ( chrome, teamviwer, utorrent, adobe flash). Until now no solution...

How do you know you have the same problem when the original poster hasn't even pinpointed their problem yet? These symptoms can point to many problems with your computer and/or OSX install.Start your own thread to try to solve your issues.
