I have audio books on my iphone and ipod. I just bought a new computer and had to download itunes. I now am unable to locate my audio books in my library. What happened?

They will only be where you put them.
Did you put them on your new computer?
As long as you still have them on the iPhone or the iPod you should be able to recover them into the library with Transfer Purchases. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for details. If possible you should migrate your old library properly from your previous computer.
