iPod shows usb going into iTunes & wont do anything cause its locked with a passcode!

I need help! My iPod shows the picture with the usb cord going into iTunes, & ive tried to plug it into my laptop but it says it cnt do anything untill I unlock it, well I cant unlock it because it wont go off that screen!! Please help, Ive tried about everything!
