A day after updating to iOS 6.1.3 I have no sound coming from the phone. I can't play music or watch videos without headphones...anyone else experiencing these issues?

I have the same problem!!!! Somebody that help us!????Please!!! Did read that many people have the same mistake!!!
Same issues with sound, and I cannot send iMessages anymore after this update either.

Just try to restore your iPhone, if it don't work, bring it to the Apple Store, they will help you with your product

This happened to me too, so I took it to the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store. They said it was coincedental and the speaker needed to be replaced. They did so and the problem was solved! 🙂
It should not be coincedental once many off us have the same problem after update to 6.1.3.
Took my iPhone 5 to the Apple Store, they said it couldn't be fixed and gave me a new one. No Apple Care, phone was still under warranty. Thank you Apple!!!
