Q: Exported clip sounds horrible on iphone, but not computer or for broadcast.
A voice over was done in final cut pro 7 and edited with a music track. Vidoe and audio along with the voice over sound great inside final cut and in motion round tripped back to final cut. When i exported a .m4v copy for the iphone today the video plays fine and the music plays back great but the voice over sounds way out of wack like it came from a alien universe. Could it be the way it was captured in final cut?
I exported using compressor and did a .m4v video so i can email and view on iphone. The video plays great on the computer, but when i download it on my iphone only the voice over sounds like crap. The audio plays great on broadcast. Is there something in the settings on how the audio was captured? Unfortunatly i never captured audio in final cut before, i always use a dvc deck or the camera.

nick i figured i out!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!! Ok the audio was captured just fine in final cut. now if you look at the audio wave form on the time line one was bigger then the other. so when i tried to make it into a mono channel i didnt think to go to modify and check the stero option. so i dropped one track down 1 by 1. ok cool, so now my audio is mixed and some how some way the pan got adjusted to fully modulate to one speaker. it sounded just ok on the computer, but wacked on the iphone.. so what i did was i deleted the smaller looking wave form track for the VO. took the larger track vo and copied it down and snapped it into place. on track 1 i did 0 across the board and on track 2 i did -0 across the board, works like a charm!!
Thank you for fast response!!!
