Midi guitar input is extremely fuzzy, cannot get a clear guitar signal using previous input/output settings. Help?

Hey all,

I recorded a couple songs a while back and had no issues whatsoever recording my guitar using a Line6 UX1 input. Unfortunately, now when I use the same input midi settings, I get an overbearing fuzz that ruins the singal and is unrecordable.

Input: Toneport UX1

Output: Built in Device (headphones)- again, same as the past.

It isn't an issue of getting the sound through because the recordings carry over the poor guitar quality. I changed the frequencies and that seemed to clear it up a bit, but still no fix.

Amp settings are clean, I have messed with all options and mono/stereo inputs to see if that changes anything. Nothing doing.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Thanks,

Nick

Okay...... I have not changed any gain settings either. The only knob is for mic gain on a serpate input and I turned it up and down as well with no effect.

I appreciate the response, but how do you recommend I fix this? Is there a way to adjust gain in garageband? I am using the clean present amp with everything turned down and no effects pedals.
