2006 mac pro 8 core compatibility to 27" apple LCD display

I would like to purchase a mac pro 8 core system (for editing in Pr). I need a late model 27" apple LCD display. what year/model did the mac pro's begin to allow compatibility? thanks, Bob

You need the Mini DisplayPort version of the 27" display.

The Thunderbolt version will not work with a Mac Pro.


Mac Pros started coming with Mini DisplayPorts in 2009 but you can install a Mini DisplayPort graphics card in earlier models (if you update to at least Snow Leopard),
