ipod touch 2G request for firmware update 5.1.1 for 2G ipod touch pls???

i cannot use my ipodtouch 2G? how come...and also i cannot donwload or update my ipodtouch 2G to the latest firmware for bug and fix? whats wrong of my old version ipodtouch no more firmware updates 5.1.1 for 2G? because some new application is only 4Generations can read or run,so how can i update ipodtouch 5.1.1 2G? you release the unit and then after 5 years face out and no more updates...this is a lagendary unit ipodtouch 2G 🙂

That iPod touch simply doesn't have enough RAM to run a newer iOS version. Unless someone discovers a glaring security hole in iOS 4.2.1, no further updates will be available for it, and even then, they will only close the hole.

Like all computers/tvs/cars/dvd players, etc old hardware cannot run the latest software forever. It simply cannot handle it. The second gen was released over 4 years ago - very old in tech terms.

aha! hmp. . .and if this will be the case, i cannot purchase my second option to buy the latest model of apple units. 😟
