How do I sync cds I have imported into my iTunes library onto my iPod touch?

I have 2 cds that I imported into my iTunes Library, but cannot get them to sync onto my iPod touch. Can someone please advise on how to get these cds onto my iPod touch?

Is the format compatible with the iPod?

Do they play in iTunes?

Have you successfully synced music from that iTunes library before?

What happens when you try to sync?
