I have an older iMac (late 2006) which is running Tiger 10.4.11. I need to wipe the hard drive but don't have disc #1 of the install discs. Where can I purchase the install discs, or is there another way I can wipe it?

You will have to call Apple and request a replacement Tiger Install Disc for your model.
Optionally you could also use a > Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard upgrade DVD and still use most of the 06 iLife App's on your Applications Disc 2.
You can simply upgrade and install OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Before installing this OS, If you have any data you wish to save, you need to backup this data to discs, USB flash drives or to an external hard drive
