My installation is frozen of Mackeeper and will not let me force quit or shut down or restart. I should not have downloaded it in the first place. Will it damage my computer if I shutdown by holding the button?

Bad move even trying to install it.
Search MacKeeper on these forums and elsewhere and you'll find many, many articles where MacKeeper has been an unmitigated disaster for users on otherwise healthy Macs.

If you paid for it try and get your money back.
Thank you for drawing our attention to this. MacKeeper is often being defended against all the evidence of it being malware. Your problem shows just how easy it is to be drawn into. Did you buy it?
You will have to force a restart and let it complete the installation. Then uninstall it according to the developer's instructions.
How do I stop Mackeeper installation in progress? Or at least force quit it to restart my computer?
