My Droid X2 O'Reilly manual says that by plugging my Droid into a Mac computer USB port I will get a trident icon on my menu bar.  And, that upon clicking on the trident I will get a menu that includes a choice of Mass Storage Mode.  Upon selecting MSM I will get a box on my screen allowing file transfers.

I get no trident.  Does Mass Storage Mode exist?

There is a file called /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext/Contents/MacOS, but I cannot access it.

Look in the Settings for your phone for something like USB mode or Connect to PC mode and set it to Mas Storage. Or it may already be set to that. The Trident is the USB symbol.

You'd be better served posting to an Android forum.
