My girlfriend's 2010 13'' Macbook Pro has developed a really annoying trackpad usage problem. It renders the laptop completely unusuable. Basically, it will work fine for about 10 minutes and then all of sudden become less responsive, clicking random things and jumping round the screen. Also, the problem persists even if I plug in a 3rd party mouse.
This has also happened on my brand new Macbook Pro 15'', although the problem quickly goes away.
The laptop is well out of warranty and dont have Apple care - could it be software or is it hardware based? I've done SMC resets and PRAM resets, all of which solved the problem temporarily but it creeps back in. How much I'm I looking at to get this repaired?
