I'm having a problem with an application called Steam. Based on all of the help forums on steam this is a fairly common problem I'm having and to fix it I must open up a certain file using textedit and chance one of the settings in the file, changing "Offline mode: 1" to Offline mode: 0.

Since textedit isn't here though I can't open this file.

Quote from someone on the steam forums who had the same problem:

In Finder, go to Users -> Your Account -> Library -> Application Support -> and then locate Registry.vdf and open it with TextEdit.

In the Registry.vdf file, find the word "Offline" "1" and then replace 1 with 0 and save it. That's it, you should be able to open Steam now, that's how I fixed mine.

I can locate the file but theres no way to open it.
