My Mac says: Wi-Fi : No hardware installed. What can be done to fix problem? Anything with the Internet is not responsive.

My computer is working fine but will not show any wireless networks or do anything when I try to connect to the Internet. It will not let me turn wifi on.

MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
