how do I clean up my pictures and books on my ipad

I have very little storage left on my Ipad mostly because I think all of the pictures I took from several years ago downloaded onto my ipad when I purchased and synced it on Itunes.

I've tried to go to photos/once the sync the ipad but then it loaded another 3000 pictures which took up even more date. I don't get the prompt to remove pictures once I unclick the sync box.

I am down to like 4mb of storage for a 32G Ipad. Can someone please help me.

It also says that I have 10.3G of books but I only had three downloaded. I deleted one of them from my ipad but it did not change anything.

Thanks

You uncheck the "Sync Photos From" box in the Photos Tab and then click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes, and that should remove all synced photos from the iPad.

Without knowing anything else that you might have done, quit iTunes, restart your computer, reboot your iPad and then try again.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
