icloud account

This showed up in my iCloud email account:


From: Customer Care <info@me.com>

To: Undisclosed recipients;



Account User

We have been monitoring this account through our server's log file and

have noticed that this account is been accessed from two distinct location

simultaneously which indicates insecurity, we will be shutting down this

account except you confirm owner's legitimacy by verifying this account.

Username:

Password:

Location:

Warning!!! Failure to receive confirmation of ownership of this account

within 24hours will be tantamount to the suspension this account.

I have never seen this kind of thing before. Any ideas on how to proceed?

Do NOT respond. This is fraud. Apple would never send an email like this, and certainly wouldn't use a Gmail account for your response. It's someone trying to get you to disclose your Apple ID credentials.


Contact support and report it: https://expresslane.apple.com/Issues.action. You'll have to provide your device serial number to set up the call. Also, there is normally a charge to contact support (unless your device is new or your paid for AppleCare), but in this case just explain that you are calling as a good Samaritan to report an attempted breach or security on your iCloud account and they should waive the charge.
