Q: update Apple TV via settings>general>update software advise Apple support. But Airplay won't display the Apple Tv because it needs an updated compatible software. Catch 22. How does one resolve this contradiction please? Paul

I have Macbook Pro OS X version 10.8.3 Mountain Lion so sufficiently new enough to accept the airplay device
