Hi, there are other backup apps fpor 10.4.11, but they won't help after the fact.
Try this first...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when complete, test again.
