anyone come accross this error? I can't download from the cloud. I get error -5000.
Perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:
I found that changing the DOWNLOADS location folder fixed this for me when iTunes wouldnt let me download an album I purchased.
In iTunes go EDIT > Preferences > Then click the "Change" button beside iTunes Media folder Location.

I was moving me media to a NAS and encounter this error when trying to download the movies from the cloud. It turned out that the folder I create was tight on the permissions. Opening up the permissions on the target folder resolved the issue. "-5000" = folder permissions. Very simple fix!
