Will I be able to charge my iPhone 5 in Italy using a plug adapter or will I have to purchase a converter as well? The plug on my phone does have 110-240 voltage on it.

The Apple chargers are universal in voltage so all you need is a plug adaptor for European outlets...if you are in the US, try Radio Shack before you go, or many European international airports have stores that sell the adapter. They are only a few dollars.
