I am using the terminal command 'open' to open a file from a database. This works fine on Mac OS X 10.6 and later. On a 10.4.11 machine, I get the error "RegisterProcess failed (error = -50)". I can't find what this means or how to resolve it. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks. I looked at that. The closest I got was a few messages that indicated that it was related to using a relative path and that using a full path solved the problem. I tried that in my command line command, but I still got the error.
