Have you tried resetting your device by holding down the home and power button until your see the silver apple?

I have restarted it but i don't want to reset my iPad

1. Double-click the Home button to reveal the Task Bar
2. Hold down the iMessage app for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close the App Store
4. Re- launch iMessage and test.
