how to stop a download

How can I stop a download on my ipad?

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G

I tried that but the app hasn't really downloaded yet. it shows a grey box with "waiting" and i can't delete it. The problem is I have several items in my itunes download queue. I started to download a large TV show file without realizing it's huge size. So I tried aborting the download. It stopped the download but I can't remove it from my queue. Now I can't download anything else either including apps and songs.

Try resetting the device by holding the home and power button for 15 to 30 seconds until you see the silver apple once you do just let the device start normally, see if that works, also check your settings from Settings>iTunes and App Stores and make sure no automatic downloads are enabled.

Depends what your downloading. If its an app just hold your finger on it and until it wiggles should give an "x" to stop the download and cancel the install.
