Mirroring does not work

Newly installd AppleTV doe not mirror ML Vidoe or iPAD2.

ApopleTV can stream internet radio, and pull down purchases from valid Apple ccounts.

AppleTV appears in mirror list on MBP2011 with ML (Fresh install) and appears in swipe screen of IPAD2, but after about 5 seconds, neither portable device can maintain any connection (and presumably times out). no mirroring occurs, although it is enablesd in ATV and the ATV is listed on the MBP and the iPAD2.

The AppleTV is browsable and shares the same network connection that the portable devices have to access the internet.

I have done a dozen Reboots on the ATV, I have reset and reconfigured it 2x, I have built a fresh ML-MBP, restarted the 6.1.3 iPad 2x and have tried with 2 different valid AppleIDs on all devices in parallel.

Anyone want a hockey puck?
